How To Make Drinking Water Fun

Drinking water can be a difficult thing to start, simply drinking plain water can be tasteless is boring. We are told by health experts to drink 2 to 3 litres of water a day, that is the equivalent to 8-10 cups a day. That does not mean we will drink 10 cups the whole day as 20% of our water intake comes from solid foods.

We have constructed a list of ways you can make your daily water intake easier and fun.

Use a Tracking app\buddy 

In this day and age, people are constantly on their phone so it can be useful to download an app that can send reminders to drink water according to the goal you have set. You can make a pack with a friend or a work colleague that wants to drink water regularly, that person can be your designated water buddy that is there to help you stay on track.

Iced Beverages

In summer it is very hot to be drinking hot beverages however this does not have to stop you from making your tea or coffee and popping it into the refrigerator. Firstly, you have saved so much money on buying iced tea or coffee from the store and secondly, you will be drinking your 8 cups of water in style. In winter you can make tea to keep warm, it is very difficult to drink water in the cold weather.

Fruit Infusion

You can add fruits and vegetables in your water. Fruit and veg such as cucumber, strawberries, lemon, lime, peach etc. You can also freeze some fruits and add them to your water as ice blocks this adds flavour and colour to your glass of water. Coconut water is a healthier option you do not have to add your flavouring or fruits.

Snacks 

People have miss understood the concept of drinking +-8 cups of water every day. Healthy snacks are a good way to help increase your water intake. Eating water-rich food such as cucumber, celery, tomatoes, watermelon, strawberries and carrots is a great way to substitute a glass of water or two (it tastes great as well). These foods have at least 90% water by weight.
